Family

Families play a decisive role in most winemaker’s lives. I am not different. Three generation are living together in our estate and all of them are participating in the development of our wines. The oldest generation, my mother, is still highly active in the vineyards: she prunes the vines in winter and is of huge help during the vineyard works in summer and harvest in autumn. She is supported by my wife Elfriede, who is also responsible for all the administrative work and the maintenance of our holiday apartment. Also our four children are already taking part in the creation of our wines: while Matthias, who is completing his studies at the vinicultural school in Krems, supports me in the cellar, the other three are helping in the vineyards.
